The Motorneuron Functional Unit led by Dr. Povedano is a reference center for motor neuron pathology in the autonomous community and the state (CSUR) and europe (ENR_NMD), and it is an expert center in Intrathecat treatments and clinical trials.

The motor neuron functional unit treats patients with ALS, SMA and other neurodegenerative motor neuron diseases. The multidisciplinary clinical team includes specialists in pneumology, neurology, rehabilitation, physical therapy, nutrition, psychology, social work and occupational therapy.

We have a lab focused on biomarkers and we have a Biobank HUB-ICO-Idibell (DNA and other samples of ALS patientsAND CONTROLS ), we work with many different partners to support and promote ALS research. IRB LLEIDA, UAB, and CIBERNED (Network Centre for the Study of Neurodegenerative Diseases; National Institute of Health Carlos III).

We work with ALS Foundation: The Miquel Valls Foundation that aims to improve the quality of life of people suffering from ALS and offers support to their families and Luzon Foundation.
