University Hospital Jena
Germany - Jena
The Neuromuscular Center at the University Hospital Jena is the only ALS center in Thuringia/Germany. Our tasks include the multidisciplinary care of patients with ALS as well as conducting clinical studies and further research into biomarkers for the diagnosis of ALS, disease progression and therapy monitoring.
The Neuromuscular Center at the University Hospital Jena treats over 2000 patients with neuromuscular diseases every year. One of our main focuses is the treatment and care of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. This includes comprehensive diagnostics, drug and non-drug symptomatic therapy, ventilation and nutritional therapy as well as palliative medical care. We treat over 200 ALS patients every year, of which around 80 are newly diagnosed.
Furthermore, we have an experienced study team that has taken part in numerous clinical trials in the field of pharmacotherapy (RCTs) and healthcare research in ALS in recent years.
