Germany - LübeckWe provide patients and relatives with comprehensive advice on issues relating to diagnostics and therapy, the provision of aids and remedies, nutrition and nutritional aids, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, home respiration and, if required, palliative medical care and treatment in the advanced stages of serious illnesses.
We offer comprehensive care for patients with ALS in adolescence and adulthood. The entire range of neurological, neurophysiological, neuropathological and human genetic examination techniques are available for outpatient, day-clinic and inpatient diagnostics. The Department of Neurology has its own intensive care unit for crisis intervention and the provision of nutritional support, and in co-operation with the Department of Pulmonology, the adaptation and testing of home ventilation. We also offer a range of clinical studies in which new drugs for the treatment of neuromuscular diseases are tested, as well as scientific studies that contribute to the clarification and monitoring of neuromuscular diseases. We work closely with neuromuscular competence centres throughout Schleswig-Holstein to ensure that care is provided close to home.
We conduct clinical studies of phases I – III, as well as register and observational studies.
