The ALS Centre is a referral center for both the Italian and European ALS patients, being part of the ERN EURO-NMD.

The ALS Centre is able to provide a complete evaluation of ALS patients supported with both genetics and biomarker investigations. The multidisciplinary team is able to provide the best cure for the patients with large support to the caregivers and the family until the very end phases of the disease. The clinical trial unit is able to conduct several trials at the same time with special commitment to antisense therapies. The Centre has a large experience in BCI and it is supported by the patient ALS associations. The Centre is also conducting a large group of Italian Institutions devoted to ALS connected to the Italian Ministry of Health elaborating both clinical and preclinical projects, with special interest to C9ALS. The large Neurobiology Laboratory connected to the ALS Centre is able to provide translational research mainly devoted to the identification of the mechanism(s) of disease, providing bioassay of clinical relevance (iPSCs derived motoneurons, organoids).
