Raúl Juntas-Morales, MD PhD

I am physician specialized in Neurology. Since my initial formation at the University Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid I am interested in Neuromuscular diseases (NMD). Initially, I followed a training in myopathies at the Myology Institute in Paris (2003-2004). In 2005, I was engaged at the University Hospital of Montpellier where I worked, specifically at the Multidisciplinary Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Unit. In the field of Amyotrofic Lateral Sclerois I have been working in genetics and environmental factors implicated in the etiology of the disease. In total, I have participated in more than 70 scientific publications in indexed journals. Currently I am the Chief of the Neuromuscular Unit in the University Hospital of Vall d’Hebron and at the same time I am the responsible of the Peripheral nervous system group in the Vall d’Hebron Institut de Recerca (VHIR). Finally, I am the Principal Investigator in 4 international/national projects and 15 clinical trials (concerning ALS, Myasthenia gravis, Amyloid Neuropathies, Inflammatory Myopathies and Chronic Inflammatory Neuropathies).
