TRICALS Masterclass 2025: Advancing innovation in ALS clinical research
March 19, 2025
From February 19 to 21, 2025, the TRICALS Masterclass 2025 took place in Amsterdam, bringing together researchers from our ALS centres, industry representatives, patient (advocates), and regulators.
The TRICALS Masterclass is an informal meeting with a maximum of 150 participants. This years edition once again provided a platform for in-depth discussions on the future of ALS research and treatment. Attendees from all over the world – from seventeen different countries – gathered in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, for this three day event.
Key topics and discussions
The masterclass focused on six core themes:
- Improving early clinical trials
- Optimizing the transition from phase 2 to phase 3 studies
- Determining necessary evidence for phase 3 trials
- Enhancing the use of real-world data and predictive algorithms
- Addressing operational challenges in clinical research
- Advancing patient-centric drug development
The masterclass is designed to feature interactive sessions, starting with short presentations from diverse perspectives—researchers, industry representatives, patient advocates and regulatory bodies—followed by dynamic discussions, where all attendees are encouraged to share their insights and opinions.
Beyond the formal presentations and discussions, the TRICALS Masterclass offers an informal setting, fostering new connections and meaningful conversations among participants.
Looking Back and Moving Forward
The TRICALS Masterclass 2025 served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration—crucial steps in accelerating ALS research. We look forward to future editions and remain committed to innovating in the fight against ALS.
