Julio Pardo

Julio Pardo is a Neurologist expert in neuromuscular disease and electromyography and obtained his medical degree from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) in 1985. Since his initial formation in Neurology at the University Clinical Hospital of Santiago de Compostela, he was interested in Neuromuscular diseases. He is the Coordinator of the Neuromuscular Unit of the Department of Neurology since 1994 and the Coordinator of the ALS multidisciplinary Unit of the University Clinical Hospital of Santiago de Compostela since January 2015. He was the Coordinator of the Neuromuscular Study Group of the Spanish Neurological Society in 2000-2001 and received the Spanish Neurological Society Neuromuscular diseases award in 2018 for his dedication and research in neuromuscular diseases.

As an Associated  Professor of Neurology at the University of Santiago de Compostela, he is currently directing two doctoral theses on ALS and has also supervised several final degree projects on ALS. He was the Principal Investigator in several clinical trials on ALS.
