Karin Forsberg

Karin Forsberg obtained her medical from Umeå University. Her doctoral thesis was titled ”Misfolded superoxide dismutase-1 in sporadic and familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis”. She also held a research position for 1 year at Ulm University in Germany. She is a specialist in Neurology, but divides her time equally between the clinic and doing research. She is part of the multidisciplinary Clinical Care ALS Team at Umeå University Hospital. Her research concentrates on brain anatomy and pathological studies on patients carrying different ALS mutations with focus on the SOD1 protein.
