Mamede de Carvalho

Mamede de Carvalho is a full professor of physiology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon. He is also a senior consultant neurologist and neurophysiologist at Santa Maria Hospital, Lisbon, where he has led the ALS Clinic for the past three decades. He is the recipient of the Forbes Norris Prize and serves as president of the jury for the Paulo Gontijo award. He has authored over 400 publications on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and related disorders.
