The ALS Team at Aarhus University Hospital combines clinical research with the dedication to high quality multidisciplinary care of patients with ALS.

The core ALS team at Aarhus University hospital consists of neurologists, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, neuropsychologists and a social worker. The multidisciplinary care also includes very close collaboration with the Regional Respiratory Center, the Palliative and Supportive Care Unit, the Danish National Rehabilitation Center for Neuromuscular Diseases and other ALS teams in Denmark.

The ALS team was established in 1995 and covers the Central Denmark Region (1.3 million)

In addition to participating in medical clinical trials the centre conducts multiple investigator initiated clinical studies, covering neuroimaging (investigating potential neuroimaging biomarkers and metabolic neuroimaging), neurophysiology (TMS), cognition (emotional bias) and biochemical bloodmarkers.
